Impact Public Affairs recently partnered with the Amethyst Women’s Addiction Centre to coordinate a first ever corporate track & field fundraising event in the name of Amethyst, pro bono.
A unique concept fundraiser, with more appeal than traditional golf tournaments, the Amethyst Track Challenge involved corporate teams of 5 people competing against each other during a day long event held at Ottawa's Terry Fox Athletic Facility. Participants competed in various track events and healthy food, massage tables and entertainment were provided throughout the day. I mpact closed down their offices for the day in order to facilitate the event.
The result was an exciting day had by all, and unprecedented fundraising succcess for Amethyst. $36,150 was raised in the name of the charity, 16 times more funds than
Amethyst’s previous year’s fundraising event.

In order to generate buzz around the event, during an Olympic year, Impact coordinated a unique race down Ottawa's busy Sparks Street, involving Ottawa Mayor Larry O'Brien, Beijing Olympic hopefuls and local CEOs.
