Government Relations
At Impact Public Affairs, our seasoned political consultants understand government and are keenly aware of the current administration's motivations and constraints. As former senior political aides, our consultants have developed and maintained key relationships with the current government at both the executive and legislative branches. This enables Impact Public Affairs to initiate, manage and implement all aspects of our clients' short and long-term government relations projects.
Our strategies are based on a strong understanding of our clients' issues and our goal is to resolve these issues quickly.

|
Impact worked with the Canadian Health Food Assocation on an award-winning nationwide community awareness campaign to promote National Health Food Month (NHFM) to Members of Parliament through the theme,“Celebrate your health naturally.”
The NHFM campaign was recognized internationally with a 2008 Summit International Award in the Community Relations Category. Entries came from 25 countries, including Canada, South Africa, China, Australia, England, and the United States and were judged by a group of well-respected marketing and advertising executives from such internationally recognized companies as Ogilvy & Mather, SAATCHI & SAATCHI and Velocity Design Works.
The Celebrate your health naturally campaign included many different components, including an outreach program to CHFA members, targeting decision makers, media and relevant Members of Parliament and federal elected officials.
“CHFA is extremely grateful to Impact for their creativity, guidance and expertise and we are thrilled that this campaign has won an international award. We look forward to working with Impact in the future to increase awareness for our industry and promoting among Canadians the necessary tools which will enable them to achieve optimal health and well being.”

Seen here, The Honourable Diane Finley,
Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, CSMLS Executive Director Kurt Davis
and Barry Vermeersch, Director of Laboratory Medicine
at Norfolk General Hospital
|
Federal Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Diane Finley, got a first-hand look at the laboratory at the Norfolk General Hospital in her hometown of Simcoe, Ontario in September. The tour was organized by Impact Public Affairs for the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as part of the Society's ongoing advocacy efforts to inform government representatives about issues affecting Canada's laboratory professionals.
Minister Finley noted that immigrants tend to flow to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, and that her ministry is working to provide more information about employment opportunities. She is excited about the work on phase two of the web-based immigration resource that her ministry is developing (http://www.canadacredentials.gc.ca/)

Seen here, members of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) meet with Prime Minister Harper during a recent lobby day on Parliament Hill where they met with more than 100 Members of Parliament and Senators.
|
Impact Public Affairs plays a critical role in making sure IBAC's lobbying goals are achieved. Recently, Impact's extensive advocacy efforts paid off as the government announced through it's Federal White Paper that despite the banks' aggressive campaign to amend the Bank Act, financial institutions would remain barred from the business of marketing insurance through their branches.
This was a huge victory for the 30,000 insurance brokers which IBAC represents nationwide.
