HUW WILLIAMS
PRESIDENT
Huw Williams is the President of Impact Public Affairs and specializes in government and media relations. Huw is a nationally recognized expert on government relations, advocacy, and strategic communications. He is the author and co-author of several books including Government Relations for Canadian Associations: How to Be the Voice of Your Members with Government. With extensive experience in print and broadcast media, Huw is also a frequent contributor on CTV and CBC national news.
Huw worked on Parliament Hill for many years and has diverse experience in both federal and provincial governments. Most notably, he served as Acting Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and as a Senior Advisor to the Minister of Constitutional Affairs.
Huw has served on the board of directors for the Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC). He has been recognized as a worldwide Public Affairs Professional of the Year finalist by PRNewsMagazine and as one of The Hill Times’ Top 100 lobbyists in Canada. Huw is also the recipient of the CSAE Griner Award for outstanding “Business Excellence” and the Ottawa Business Journal’s “Top Forty under 40 Award” for professional success and community involvement.
Huw holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from the University of Calgary. He has also completed studies at the Université de Tours in France and is bilingual.
