SIMONE FLANNERY

ASSOCIATE, PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Simone brings a strong background in politics and public policy to her work as a Public Affairs Associate. She is passionate about tackling Canada’s most pressing issues through thoughtful policy action and effective public affairs strategies.

Prior to joining Impact, Simone worked for a Federal Cabinet Minister who now serves as Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance. In this role, she connected local needs with Federal priorities by coordinating stakeholder events and meetings, curating communications products for constituents, and briefing the Minister on important issues.

Simone has also held policy roles at Queens Park and Indigenous Services Canada, where she gave strategic advice across a range of issues at Federal and Provincial levels. Her interest in government work began early in her career as a Legislative Page at Queen’s Park, providing key legislative support for proceedings. Together, these experiences have given Simone a solid foundation of the inner workings of government, attunement to political developments, and the relationships that help turn ideas into action.

Simone holds a Masters of Science in International, Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelors of Social Science in International Development (French Immersion) from the University of Ottawa. She is also fluent in English and French.
